The Regina Philharmonic Chorus (RPC) performs a wide range of music specializing in choral masterworks and oratorio by the great composers. The RPC frequently presents concerts at Knox-Metropolitan United Church, often accompanied by members of the Regina Symphony Orchestra and magnificent organ. We also enjoy welcoming guest community and youth choirs and emerging Canadian soloists. Many of these young talents go on to attain international acclaim like Lynn Channing, Jane Leibel, Kathleen Porter, Renée Brad and Ben Heppner.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CHORUS

Since its inception in 1972, the Regina Philharmonic Chorus (RPC) has grown to become a well established community choir in Canada.

RPC’s repertoire ranges from Renaissance to contemporary. Our concerts are often accompanied by members of the Regina Symphony Orchestra (RSO) and the RPC regularly joins the RSO in its Classics Series and Christmas Messiah. Our popular performances have included Bach’s Magnificat, Verdi’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana and Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man.

The RPC supports the community by presenting benefit concerts for local charities and concerts to residents of long-term care facilities through the Concerts in Care program. Through our Healing Power of Music program, we provide complimentary concert tickets to individuals facing challenging health issues.

The RPC has benefitted greatly from the leadership, experience and talents of its many talented conductors, most recently under the baton of Artistic Director Emeritus Hart Godden. The chorus looks forward to continuing its legacy of excellence with our continued partnership with our rehearsal accompanist Josh Hendricksen and our new Artistic Director, Evanne Wilhelm. Rehearsals take place Tuesday evenings from September through April. New members are welcome to audition throughout the year. The RPC also welcomes sponsorships, donations and volunteer assistance each season.
